APRIL 2015

Columbia (O22) Fly-in April 2 - April 4 i am awesome
As has been tradition, we are doing a fly-in to Columbia.

The event is not "officially" an AHP event because of the whole issue of flight activity under the name of the university, etc...

So technically we are just a bunch of friends, who happen to fly planes, and decided to make an overnight stay out of it.

We will be making an overlap overnight stay, a few people are going Thursday late morning and returning late Friday afternoon, and some are going Friday afternoon and returning Saturday afternoon. This was the best option due to the diversity in work schedules.

Feel free to reserve an aircraft or drive up!!!

There is 2 aircraft confirmed for Thursday, and a few more for Friday. It is completely BYOB event. Some local activities include zip-lining.

Initiation Saturdayat 4:00pm
Hopefully you've stayed in the loop of things had marked your calendars for Spring Initiation!!! We are roughly a month away. Same location as usual, and you should all know the drill by now.

More details to follow.

We will be having a meeting on the Monday before (4/13/2015) at 4:00 pm, the same time as our chapter meeting, to go over briefly of the events of the night so that Initiation can run smoothly. Every member is invited.

NO Pledges will attend this meeting!

And it is time to head back home! AHP National Conference was a success. A great scenic, fun, brother & sister bounding, and learning trip. I think all the Eta members who attended the conference took a lot from this conference that can be used to improve our chapter. The cherry on the cupcake was definitely meeting Kent Backart an AHP legend, and Pete "Viper" Pettigrew!
A big congratulations to our sister Lindsey Lindsey Jorgensen who terminated her term as National Student President and now holds a new National office position.
Lastly but not least, a big thanks to our own Jason Utpadel who took time out to show us around San Diego!!!
Some good stories, laughs, and great memories were created this weekend.

AHP Human Foosball Tournament Friday at 11:00am - 5:00pm
Hello Eta Chapter Brothers & Sisters,
I hope your spring break was a good one, but now it is the last stretch of the semester!
As you know we have our first ever Philanthropy event coming up and we will need all our actives' help. The Human Foosball Tournament will be held on Friday, April 17th, 11am in the AS Recreation Lawn. We will need your help setting up and tearing down, and not to mention it promises to be a lot of fun.
We would also love your help promoting the event tomorrow on 7th Street near the Central Classroom at our booth from 10am-3pm. We will need people to answer questions and to coordinate possible signups etc...
I hope to see you there!
Hey everybody! It's that time of year again! Initiation is coming up and if you are interested in participating we have some information for you. We are having a meeting Monday April 13th at 8pm in IS 216 to talk about what's going to happen and assign duties so if you are planning on coming to initiation this will be very informative for you. Hope to see you all there!

AHP General Meeting Monday, March 9at 4:00pm
Come find out about all the fun events we have going on!

The members that are attending the AHP National Conference have decided to make an Eta Chapter shirt to represent our chapter at the conference. The idea came about after we were notified that the Official AHP Polos are out of stock for undetermined time frame. With this came the idea of making our own shirt. After suggestions of the travelling group of members, we came up with a potential design, which we would like to share with you all in case any of you would like to join in on our order. The order is all self funded. Polos are printscreen and are in blue/gold color scheme to represent our school. the price is approximately $20-$22 depending on how many shirts ordered.
The order will be placed on Wednesday 3/11/15 night, so please notify us if you would like one. If you do not get one now but later decide to do so we own the design so it can easily be ordered in the future, although the price cannot be guaranteed.
Open to any suggestions as well. Aerocrash tshirt ideas coming this week!!!

Wings of Hope
Alpha Eta Rho, Eta Chapter is proud to announce the establishment of a GoFundMe page for the Wings of Hope/Alpha Eta Rho partnership to purchase a Piper Seneca III to be used as an air ambulance for sick children across the US.
GoFundMe is a website where anybody can donate any amount to a specified cause. All you need is a credit/debit card, an email address, and a willingness to help. Any donation will be greatly appreciated, and all of the funds will go straight to Wings of Hope.
Our national president has challenged each chapter to help Wings of Hope in any way possible, and this is a great way for each member to contribute and support a good cause. Any non-members or alumni are also welcome to donate.
Feel free to spread the word about this fundraiser to your family/friends, as each donation is yet another step towards getting the transportation these children so desperately need.
Below is the link to the GoFundMe site, where you will find a more detailed description of the fundraiser, links to Wings of Hope and Alpha Eta Rho, and a link to our YouTube promo video, which will also be available on the chapter Facebook page.
Let's help these kids!

January 2015

Dear Eta Chapter Brothers and Sisters
We are almost back for another semester. The Spring 2015 officers have been planning the upcoming semester events. After many schedule conflicts between classes and work, we came to the conclusion that the only best available time and day for our Chapter general meetings would be on Mondays from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, every other week, as usual. The location is still not confirmed, but most likely will be held as usual either in IS216 or IS216B (clubroom).
Our first general meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 26th, 4:00 pm. There will be an email sent out with more information.
Additionally, it appears that the majority of our members expressed interest in returning to a beach for the 68th Annual Aerocrash (4/3-4/5 or 4/10-4/12). So far the most appropriate campsite near a beach is Sunset Beach. If anyone has other suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated so that we can look into reserving it by the end of the month.

Hot Chocolate Social February 2 at 4.00pm
Come and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate with some of your fellow active members on Monday, February 2 at 4.00pm! This event is for active members as well as anyone interested in joining Alpha Eta Rho so if you know anyone who is interested please feel free to bring them.

Mission Peak Hike Friday, January 30at 9:00am

November 2014

Dear Alpha Eta Rho brothers and sister and anyone else who would like to help the community, Alpha Eta Rho will be having their annual charity food drive! We are working together with Second Harvest Food bank in San Jose to help feed the less fortune families in bay area who might not have enough on their tables for this Holiday season. Last year we donated one barrel of goods to the community, this year we would like to donate Two barrels of can goods and donate money as well!
There are two ways to donates:
We would encourage both methods if possible.
One of the barrel would be in the club room (IS-216B) and the other will be in room IS- 216.
If you are unable to buy the goods, Second Harvest food Bank will also take donating on their website.

The most needed food items include:

Meals in a can (stew, chili, soup)
Tuna and canned meat
Peanut butter
Canned foods with pop-top lids
Low-sugar cereals
100% fruit juices in single serving boxes
Canned fruit packed in juice
Canned vegetables (low salt)
The last day to donate will be Wednesday, November 26th. Please any of the officers if you have any questions. Your help is needed and greatly appreciated. It might not be enough to end hunger for everyone, but we will make a difference for someone.

Alpha Eta Rho will be having nominations on the 20th of November for Spring 2014 officers. Please make it a priority to make it to this general meeting to nominate any of the members for Officer Positions. The meeting will be held in IS-216B at 4:30PM. Check AHP Facebook page for more information.
